Meet the Author

I don’t know how you begin writing a blog but I do seem to know a little about a lot so that’s why I’m here. I grew up in a town of 800 people, in a high school of 130, in a graduating class of 30. I was LDS (Latter-Day Saint formerly known as Mormon) until I was 18. To say I was sheltered is a massive understatement. We lived in a predominantly white neighborhood and over half the town, seemingly, was practicing the same religion as my family so it seemed like a perfect cookie cutter fit for me. I hardly had to think for myself and honestly I didn’t. It was so much easier as an innocent adolescent to let everyone else make the decisions. It changed when I went to college for the first time but that’s a story for a different time.

Other things about me: I have ADHD and I hyperfixate on things for weeks at a time — I have had a few things that stuck for me like book collecting and thrifting though. I love English and wanted to major in English Education for the longest time which also seemed to show that I am ill-prepared to ever teach anyone math unless it's at 3rd grade level. I have a lot of allergies and so does my immediate family. I am allergic to gluten, corn, lots of vegetables, kiwi, and the whole seasonal shtick. The combined allergies of my family would be dairy, gluten, soy, egg, tuna, beans, and avocado. This meant that my whole life was home cooked meals and learning to fully understand the workings of a functional kitchen at a young age which I am immensely grateful for. I have had a daily battle with mental health issues since I was about 15 and that has been a struggle but it has taught me a lot about compassion, coping, self-care, and so much more. I have a long list of health issues that doctors seem perplexed by but I am learning to live with them. There is more to me than these things but I can’t think of them at this moment in time so I guess this is just a sneak peek into the future of this blog.

This blog is going to be a conglomeration of things I have experienced and things I find interesting or of note. Things like mental health, school, English, cooking/baking, family, religion, relationships, fashion, lists, shopping, and life in general. I want to take you along with me through all of it as I add to this platform day after day. I know for a fact that it won't be consistent at first but once I get into a groove that seems conducive to the lifestyle I have built so far then I will let you know!

I will expand on all of this in due time but if any of the things I rambled on about seemed relatable to you in some way or interested you enough to want to learn more then you should stick around because I would love to have someone to share all of this randomness with. I am happy you’re here:)

Sincerely,

TH
